Double Four Patch Quilted Table Runner

This is an easy, class for all skill levels. New to quilting? You’ll learn new skills! Advanced Quilter? Refresh your skills!

This class will show how to achieve an accurate ¼” seam allowance and how to nest your seams while chain piecing your blocks together. The importance of proper pressing is discussed and you will learn how to add a border strip to the table runner. The use of a walking foot or dual feed is also discussed and its importance in achieving even stitches.

Only the pieced top of the runner will be completed in class. How to prepare your table runner for machine quilting will be demonstrated at the end of class as well as how to apply straight grain binding.

Quilting is Carole's love and color is her passion. She has always loved creating things. Quilting quickly became an obsession after making her first quilt. It is Carole's source of artistic expression. This eventually led her to pursue teaching.

Carole has been teaching quilt making for over 30 years and continues to find joy in sharing knowledge and teaching others. Her mission is to create an encouraging and inspiring experience for both learning and instilling confidence in her students. She believe in skill building while having a good time!

Carole is originally from the east coast. She studied art in college and moved to sunny California in 1978! She lives in Oxnard with Ken and their little dog Jake.

Supply List: Double Four Patch Quilted Table Runner

Fabric requirements:

The table runner we will be making is a variation of a four-patch block and a focus fabric block. (NOTE: Only the pieced top of the runner will be completed in class.)

¼ yd. each of 2 fabrics for the four patch blocks

¼ yd. focus fabric

5/8 yd. border and binding fabric

1-3/8yds of fabric for backing

21” x 45” piece of batting

Other supplies:

Sewing machine in good working order

¼” patchwork foot

Neutral thread for piecing

Rulers for cutting 6 ½” x 12” and 6 ½” square

Rotary cutter and cutting mat

Scissors/snips, seam ripper, pins etc.

A basic handout will be provided but the book is required for first time quilters: Teach Me to Make My First Quilt, book by Pat Sloan C&T Publishing
