Beginning Sewing: Five Wednesdays 1pm to 3pm

Ready to bring your sewing dreams to life? Whether you are brand new to sewing, haven’t touched a sewing machine in years, or just need a refresher course, this is the perfect class. Two projects will be available to choose from. Work on your project and learn the essential skills like measuring, reading the pattern envelope, selecting fabrics and notions, laying out and cutting patterns, and using a sewing machine to create your masterpiece. With personalized guidance, you’ll be well on your way to crafting a stunning garment!

Class #1: INTRODUCTION – Let the Adventure Begin!
Get ready to dive into the world of fabric, patterns, and creativity! In this first session, you'll learn all the essentials—how to measure for your perfect pattern size, choose the right fabric, read pattern envelopes like a pro, and pick the notions that bring your project to life. But that's not all—after a crash course in fabric care and prep, we’ll actually go fabric shopping together! No sewing machines needed yet, just your imagination and excitement as we prep for the magic ahead.

Class #2: Prepped and Ready – Time to Start!
Come back with your freshly washed fabric and cut-out tissue pattern pieces, because now we’re diving into the real action. You’ll learn the ins and outs of fabric grain-lines, pattern alignment, and how to perfectly position your pieces for cutting. With the groundwork set, we’ll move into sewing, starting with machine threading and operation. It’s your first hands-on session, and things are about to get fun!

Classes #3, 4, & 5: Sew, Create, and Conquer!
Now it’s all about bringing your vision to life! Over the next three sessions, you’ll focus on completing your project, step by step. Depending on your chosen project’s complexity and your pace, you may not finish during class—but no worries! You’ll leave with the skills, confidence, and momentum to complete your masterpiece, no matter what. Let the sewing journey begin!
